Eurovet Animal Health announces the launch of Cardisure® flavoured tablets for dogs, the first alternative heart medication based upon pimobendan in Europe.

In the treatment of congestive heart failure, pimobendan is well established and has proven its worth.

Cardisure® is suitable for treating canine cardiac insufficiency, caused by dilated cardiomyopathy or valve insufficiency. Cardisure® has a two-fold effect; 1) positive inotropy (increases the contraction strength of the heart) and 2) vasodilatory effect (blood vessels are widened and preload and afterload pressure of the heart is reduced).

Cardisure® is a pimobendan formulation with optimal tablet characteristics. It is available in four tablet strengths; balanced out for all sizes of dogs. In addition to the 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg and 5 mg strengths, a new 10 mg size has been developed. All tablets are easily divisible for precise dosing. For increased tastiness a natural meat flavour is added to the composition.

Cardisure® is now available in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, to be followed in due time in various other European markets.
