International Marketing
01-01-2007
In 2006 it was decided to open a new department within Eurovet Animal Health with a specific aim: the continued professionalisation of, and a tighter focus for our marketing strategies, campaigns and product life cycle activities. This new International Marketing (IM) department officially opened in January 2007 with, initially, three members of staff.
In previous years it had become increasingly clear that providing commercial input in the product development process, product positioning and support with the right resources were tasks that required more time than the local Product Managers had available. The high output of our pipeline, combined with international growth through acquisition and the rising significance of our STAR range, made us decide to improve this situation by setting up an entirely new department.
The IM department acts as a vital link between R&D, the Marketing & Sales functions of our local sales divisions in the Benelux and Germany and the Export department. International Marketing’s most important task is the development and in-company promotion of products for food-producing animals and companion animals, coordinating in-licensing activities, providing commercial input for multidisciplinary product development teams, setting up marketing campaigns for international product launches and improving the effectiveness of product lifecycle programmes.
The department is staffed by two International Product Managers for the food-producing and companion animal segments and one Product Manager for general support.
