Vomend®

Eurovet is proud to announce the launch of Vomend®, an anti-emeticum for dogs and cats containing 5 mg/ml metoclopramide. Vomend® is a veterinary authorised product, indicated for the symptomatic treatment of vomiting and reduced gastro- intestinal motility in dogs and cats of all ages. The vial sizes of 10 or 20 ml are adapted to market needs. The vials have a flip off cap for easy recognition in the veterinary pharmacy.

Vomend® has, besides its anti-emetic effect, a distinct and scientific proven pro-kinetic effect. This comes to expression in the saying: “Stops vomiting starts intestinal motility” and is of help in cases of non-obstructive ileus. The product can be used in pregnant and lactating animals after a positive risk/benefit analysis by the veterinarian.

The dosage is 0.5 mg metoclopramide hydrochloride per kg BW per day, eventually repeated every 6 to 8 hours. The administration route is either intramuscular or subcutaneous.
Absorption is rapid and complete. Usually the clinical symptoms resolve fast in time. Following prolonged vomiting, consideration should be given to fluid and electrolyte replacement therapy. Do not use in cases of gastro-intestinal perforation or obstruction.
