Company history

pic_award_defi1978 saw the establishment of the Vetimex Production and Trade Association (de Vetimex Productie- en Handelsmaatschappij) in Bladel. This also included the Farvet Laboratories export department. In 1996 Vetimex/Farvet was taken over by AUV, which was interested in increasing its production and sales capacity. In 1997, we built a brand new factory which, in 1998, was the first veterinary pharmaceutical factory in the Netherlands to receive GMP accreditation. The Eurovet brand name was created in 1996 as our own Benelux label. In 2001 we amalgamated the Eurovet, Vetimex and Farvet brand names into one general brand name: Eurovet Animal Health BV.

In 2005 Eurovet Animal Health took over the German company Albrecht GmbH. At the time, Albrecht mainly sold own-label products for companion animals to more than 9,000 veterinarians. German Eurovet products were added to the Albrecht range under the Eurovet label, creating a broad package of veterinary medicines for both companion animals such as dogs and cats and farm animals such as cattle, pigs and chickens.

The wet production department was completely destroyed by fire in 2006. We rebuilt the sterile and non-sterile production department again from the ground up in record time. This achievement, combined with our excellent business results and a variety of product launches, won us the prestigious Animal Pharm Award for the world’s best veterinary pharmaceutical company of 2007!
